Obtain Rest through Faith

Author: Creflo Dollar

Summary

There is a “rest” that God has made available for Believers today, but this rest is not referring to physical rest but an inward attitude—a complete trust in God. We rest in Him by trusting in everything He has accomplished for us through Jesus.

  1. “Enter into His rest” is a biblical phrase that refers to our confidence in God and the works He finished at the beginning of creation (Hebrews 4:1-11, AMP).
    1. We know we are resting in God when we have ceased to trust in our own abilities.
      1. We have in Jesus the reality of what the Sabbath symbolizes.
      2. If we are in Christ, we are new creatures. Our spirits have become a Garden of Eden.
      3. All the finished works of God is within us now (2 Corinthians 5:17).
    2. We labor in faith by resisting Satan, who tries to keep us from entering into God’s rest.
      1. The enemy uses fear to keep us from entering God’s rest.
      2. Instead of speaking words of doubt, we must speak the Word of God when we are tempted to fear.
      3. When we speak words of doubt, we are agreeing with Satan, and causing ourselves to be defeated.
  2. Some Believers think they can have what they say, even if they are trying to speak something sinful into existence (Mark 11:23).
    1. This sort of thinking is erroneous. God has not made provision for us to sin, nor can we use His Word to do so.
